I have been married to a VERY loud snorer for 20+ years so have tried lots of things to get a better nights sleep - silicone, wax, foam, and made to measure ear plugs - all have some effect but leave my ears hurting after more than a few days. I had been looking at the Snoozebands for some time but decided to give it a go when I saw the snoozeband deluxe which has its own in built white noise. Take some time setting the earphones up to sit correctly on your ears - if they are even slightly off your ears you don’t get the sound through properly. Practice a bit with the buttons - once you work out which button does what it’s easy to use once the band is on. I tried the white noise but that didn’t seem to work for me; however, once my phone is linked I tried brown noise, pink noise and music. Also get a comfortable fit on the headband - for me it seems to be better when fitted quite tight. After a few nights trial it seems that brown noise might well be a similar frequency to my husband as, although I can still hear him, the background noise makes it easier to ‘ignore’ his snores and concentrate on the earphone noise. I have, since buying, read the one star reviews and can only suggest that people haven’t given it enough of a chance - it takes a few nights to get used to wearing a headband, getting the right sounds to suit you, and the correct volume. It’s not an overnight fix, and I can’t say that I haven’t sometimes still crept off to the spare room in the middle of the night but it definitely has a purpose in my life. I am travelling to New Zealand later in the year and really feel that the snooze and will come into its own while on the plane. The light saturation is excellent and I think the sounds will help drown out the plane noise. All in all I’m glad I have it and hope that, with more use, I will be able to concentrate on the headband sounds and drown out my snoring husband!
